TexFad in Kampala, Uganda is repurposing banana tree stems and turning them into fibers that can be used to make many biodegradable products.

Banana fiber contains a lot of cellulose, therefore absorbs liquid easily. It can also be used to make eco-friendly sanitary pads, which take only 200 days to decompose. This will reduce and reuse the waste and also lead to a new industry, helpful in converting waste into wealth
